The NSE runs efficient and flawless trading operations all year long. On weekdays, it is open for trade from 9.15 am to 3.30 pm (regular session), providing a 6-hour, 15-minute trading period. Both Saturdays and Sundays are designated as NSE trading holidays.

Many investors engage in daily trading, necessitating intense concentration on stock market developments. A few stocks market holidays, in addition to the weekends, give them a chance to relax because the stock markets are closed. Typically, these market holidays coincide with religious or cultural festivals (such as Diwali) (i.e., Gandhi Jayanti).
